Angel Fish
Ages
Ages 4 – 5
ENTRY LEVEL for children who have never taken swimming lessons or are afraid of the water
Length of class
30 minutes

Requirements
New to program; first lesson experience.
ATTENDANCE AT PARENT ORIENTATION BY ONE PARENT REQUIRED.
Description
Sit, listen, and wait, safety jumps, body positions, blowing bubbles, water awareness and much more will be taught.  Singing songs, playing games and lots of care are part of this program

Star Fish
Ages
4 – 5 ½  years old who have participated in a swim lesson program and feel comfortable in water; will put face in but cannot jump in water and swim back to wall unassisted, (safety jump)

30 minutes

Requirements
Aquatic Educators recommendation required.  Child should have graduated from WOW’S Angel Fish program.
Description
Swimmers should have participated in a swim lesson program and feel comfortable under water.  They will submerge but cannot jump in water and swim back to a platform unassisted. (Safety Jump)
Skills needed
  • Totally separated from parent
  • Can sit, listen and wait on all platforms
  • Blows bubbles into interface with mirror on lap
  • Initiates submerging
  • Scoops to teacher and/or steps
  • Maintains a quiet back pencil shape with assistance
  • Independently enters and exits the water from a platform

Dolphin
Ages
4 – 5 ½ who have participated in a swim lesson program and feel comfortable in water and can independently jump in water and swim back to the wall unassisted, (safety jump)

45 minutes

Requirements
Graduated from WOW STARFISH PROGRAM
Description
Students learn back and prone body positions, rhythmic breathing, platform entries and exits while building their swimming endurance. They will integrate breathing skills in travel and propulsion as well as rolling over to their back for safety.
Skills needed
  • Blows bubbles down to a sit with assistance
  • Vertical pencil posture, anchor to bottom and float up to the interface with assistance
  • Bridge while anchored at steps
  • Maintains back pencil posture and experience teacher assisted travel to hands of peer
  • Elevator three feet from platform, return in prone pencil posture
    and exit
  • Safety jump
  • Vertical pencil down, anchor to bottom of pool, bridge to wall, and
    anchor with head

Hot Shot
Ages
4 – 6 year olds

Requirements
Graduated from WOW DOLPHIN PROGRAM
Description
Work on coordination of the human stroke, pop up and body roll breathing, elementary back stroke, aquatic signature, treading water, ball and back floats, diving and much more!
Skills needed
  • Can anchor to the bottom of the pool in a vertical pencil and float up to the interface with little assistance
  • X, Y, Pencil back body shapes, (no assistance)
  • Back set off platform and travel in a back pencil posture with little assistance
  • Accepts air at the interface while in propulsion 3 to 5 feet to and from a foundation

Hot Shot Plus
Ages
4 – 6 year olds

Requirements
Graduated from WOW HOT SHOT PROGRAM
Description
In Hot Shot Plus a student will experience the Aquatic Environment in axial alignment while coordinating breathing exchanges with under- water propulsion using arms and legs (freestyle and back stroke beginnings).
Skills needed
  • Pencil body rolls with interface breathing exchanges
  • Pencil pop up breathing exchanges at the interface
  • Vertical pencil posture, anchor to bottom of pool, tap up, accept air
  • Hover for 10 seconds in a bridge, close to a ball, open to bridge in 3.5 feet
  • Maintain X,Y and pencil back body shapes for 30 seconds
  • Propulsion in T,Y to pencil for 60 feet. (no kick)
  • Quiet propulsion in a back pencil posture for 60 feet
